When are peonies available?
Our peonies are typically available from early May to mid-June. However, we have had success storing some varieties to extend the bloom season until mid-July.
What is a subscription?
It is a pre-season purchase of three bouquets of peonies that will be delivered or picked up during the season. Specific days can be requested, although they will be restricted by market days. For example, pick up locations will be at the Vernon Farmer's Market on Mondays or Thursdays, Kelowna Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and deliveries will be on Fridays. You may request certain colours, although we may be restricted based on what is flowering at the moment. Please make requests when you order. Bouquets are offered in groups of 5, 10 or 20 stems.
How do I treat my peonies when I get them home?
For maximum bloom time, please follow these instructions:
Prepare the water: Mix the provided flower food in cold water and fill your vase.
Clean the stems: Remove all leaves that will sit below the water line in the vase to prevent bacteria growth.
Trim: Cut 1–3 inches off the bottom of the stems and immediately place them in the vase.
Placement: Place the vase in a cool location out of direct sunlight.
Maintenance: Change the water and flower food every three days, making a fresh cut on the bottom of the stem each time.
Tip: Continue to enjoy the blossoms even after they have wilted! The pile of petals on the table and the dried blossoms are exquisite. These flowers continue to give joy long after the blooms have faded.
How do I dry peony blossoms?
If you plan to dry them, please let us know when ordering (though it isn't critical). We have found that for the best results, flowers need to be picked before they fully open. If they are left on the plant too long, the petals tend to fall off the stem when dried. By picking them earlier and allowing them to open in a vase, the petals remain on the stem much better during the drying process.

You can purchase subscriptions at any time! However, we do have a special seasonal launch—check back on our website or Instagram to have your contact details added to our list for advance notice. (There is a special draw for people who join the list!)
